2017 Conference overview

The annual PURCO SA conference was hosted by the Eastern Cape Region from the 25th to 27th October 2017 at the East London International Convention Centre. Almost 350 delegates and 58 exhibitors from all over South Africa, Botswana and Namibia attended, alongside leading industry speakers delivering engaging presentations.

The theme for the conference was “Enterprise and supplier development - a key to transformation”. The conference succeeded in creating a platform where procurement professionals and their supplier partners shared ideas, research and practical experiences and challenges.

The Eastern Cape Committee Organising Committee and Hosts for this year’s conference were University of Fort Hare, Walter Sisulu University, Nelson Mandela Metropolitand University, Rhodes University, the Port Elizabeth TVET College and PURCO SA.

The conference was keynoted by former deputy minister of Finance MR Mcebisi Jonas and Professor Sakhele Buhlungu, Vice Chancellor of the University of Fort Hare. Senior procurement and finance staff from all PURCO SA member institutions across the subcontinent attended.

 

The 2017 PURCO SA Conference and Exhibition in East London was a huge success.

JPPF MEETING

A JPPF (Joint Procurement Planning Forum) meeting was hosted at the venue on 24th October.
